The Service Description
1. The website "INHABITED SKY" is a detailed map of the sky. Every user of the "INHABITED SKY" service may link their personal information with the image of a star which was previously chosen from the "INHABITED SKY" map.
2. A user selects a star while registering their account. Once this selection is complete, the user may not change this selection.
3. A user may register multiple accounts and select a star for each account.
4. The selected star's image we will hence call "the user's star". In the same sense, we will refer to this star as "the star inhabited by the user".
5. The personal user information will be reflected:
  1. In a pop-up window, when the mouse points on the user's star on "INHABITED SKY".
  2. On the user's web page, which opens in a new browser’s window, when someone clicks on the user's star.
Acceptance of Terms
1. By using the "INHABITED SKY" services, you agree to adhere to these terms. SKY-MAP.ORG reserves the right to modify these terms without notice. If you do not agree to these terms, you cannot use "INHABITED SKY". SKY-MAP.ORG may from time to time update the terms without notice. The most recent terms are located at http://my.sky-map.org/adopt_terms.jsp. You should revisit this page occasionally to review the terms and conditions.
Accounts
1. To select a star and link the personal information to it, each user has to register an account. A user can choose any number of stars, but to register every additional star, a user must register an additional account. By using our services you agree to our right to change the account structure, services offered, or any other aspect of the service at any time.
Who Can Use the Service "INHABITED SKY"
1. The SKY-MAP.ORG company provides the "INHABITED SKY" service to everyone who has supported the development of SKY-MAP.ORG. This support may be financial or given in any other form. If the support is financial, then this "INHABITED SKY" user may choose a star as per the rules described under the section . If the support is made in some other form, the rules under which this user may select stars are determined by SKY-MAP.ORG for each individual case.
Cancellation and Refund
1. You may cancel your account at any time within 15 days from the date of registration. This cancellation takes effect immediately. Upon cancellation, SKY-MAP.ORG will remove all content associated with your account. In such cases, all your donated money will be fully refunded.
Security of Username and Password
1. "INHABITED SKY" accounts are protected by a username and password. By sharing your account's username and password with another person, you offer this person full access to all information related to your account. The third party may change your username and password and you will instantly lose access to your account.
Rules on "INHABITED SKY"
1. SKY-MAP.ORG is a scientific, popular and educational project. The main traffic of our visitors are children of all ages. There is a direct link between SKY-MAP.ORG and "INHABITED SKY". Once a star is adopted on the "INHABITED SKY" site, this same star on SKY-MAP.ORG will display a special symbol. By clicking on this symbol on "SKY-MAP.ORG", you will be directly linked to the corresponding personal information page listed on "INHABITED SKY". The following rules and restrictions are strictly enforced for the reason(s) that children may conceivably view each personal page.
2. Users of "INHABITED SKY" agree to not do any of the following:
  1. Create, upload, transmit or make available in any way any material that harms children in any way.
  2. Create, upload, transmit or make available in any way any text, messages, images, or files that are derogatory, defamatory, abusive, threatening, vulgar, obscene, bigoted, hateful, racially offensive, insulting or that violates any person’s privacy (including but not limited to posting pictures, full names, email addresses, addresses, or phone numbers).
  3. Use "INHABITED SKY" service to transmit junk mail, chain letters, unsolicited mass email, spam, spim, or comment spam.
  4. Post information that you know is false, misleading, or that promotes illegal activity.
  5. Create, upload, transmit or make available in any way any content that violates any third party’s legal rights, or any domestic or international law or regulation.
  6. Upload, transmit, or make available in any way any content that you do not have the right to transmit under any law, contract, or fiduciary agreement.
  7. Create, upload, transmit or make available in any way any files, computer codes, or software programs that contain software viruses or any other type of harmful material that is intended to disrupt, destroy, or limit the functionality of computer or network hardware or software products or services.
  8. Interfere, disrupt, or create an undue burden on any network services provided by SKY-MAP.ORG.
3. We reserve the right to remove any material of any person we determine violates any of these terms. We also reserve the right to turn over to law enforcement personnel any content created, uploaded, transmitted, distributed or made available in any way on "INHABITED SKY" that we deem may be in violation of these terms or any applicable law.
The Limited Access to Your Account Information
1. If we deem that you have violated the terms of this agreement, your account may be temporarily or permanently blocked, you will not be able to edit any information on this account. In this case, only the standard scientific information will be reflected on your page, exactly as on SKY-MAP.ORG.
2. SKY-MAP may delete all content associated with your account at any time, and without notice, if we deem that you have violated the terms of this agreement, or for any other reason. SKY-MAP.ORG assumes no liability for any information removed from our site for violating these terms.
Posted Content
1. SKY-MAP.ORG does not claim ownership of content you create, upload, transmit or make available in any way on "INHABITED SKY".
2. Furthermore, you agree that you will not post any content that infringes on any copyright, privacy or publicity right, patent, trademark, trade secret, or any other proprietary right of any party.
3. You acknowledge that SKY-MAP.ORG does not pre-screen content but that SKY-MAP.ORG and its designees have the right (but not the obligation) to remove any content on "INHABITED SKY". SKY-MAP.ORG also has the right to remove any content that violates these terms. You agree to that you will be solely responsible for all risks associated with the use of this content, including the accuracy, completeness or useful of this content.
Liability
1. YOU EXPRESSLY UNDERSTAND AND AGREE THAT SKY-MAP.ORG SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO, DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, GOODWILL, USE, DATA OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES (EVEN IF SKY-MAP.ORG HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES), RESULTING FROM: (i) THE USE OR THE INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE; (ii) THE COST OF PROCUREMENT OF SUBSTITUTE GOODS AND SERVICES RESULTING FROM ANY GOODS, DATA, INFORMATION OR SERVICES PURCHASED OR OBTAINED OR MESSAGES RECEIVED OR TRANSACTIONS ENTERED INTO THROUGH OR FROM THE SERVICE; (iii) UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS TO OR ALTERATION OF YOUR TRANSMISSIONS OR DATA; (iv) STATEMENTS OR CONDUCT OF ANY THIRD PARTY ON THE SERVICE; OR (v) ANY OTHER MATTER RELATING TO THE SERVICE
Indemnity
1. You agree to indemnify and hold SKY-MAP.ORG and "INHABITED SKY" and its subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, agents, co-branders or other partners, and employees, harmless from any alleged claim or demand, including reasonable attorney fees, made by any third party due to or arising out of your Content, your use of the Service, your connection to the Service, your violation of the Terms and Conditions, or your violation of any rights of another, whether you are a registered user or not. The user is solely responsible for his or her actions when using the Service, including, but not limited to, costs incurred for Internet access.

1. THE MATERIALS IN THE SKY-MAP.ORG SITES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMISSIBLE PURSUANT TO APPLICABLE LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NONINFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE FUNCTIONS CONTAINED IN THE MATERIALS ON ANY SKY-MAP.ORG SITE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE, THAT DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED, OR THAT ANY SKY-MAP.ORG SITE OR THE SERVERS THAT MAKE SUCH MATERIALS AVAILABLE ARE FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS.
